Unknot: Arrow Puzzle · Last updated 27 September 2026
This policy explains what information Unknot: Arrow Puzzle ("Unknot", "the app", "we") collects on
Android and iOS, why, and the choices you have. The puzzles themselves are generated on your device
and work without an account.
Information we collect
- Gameplay and device information. Levels played and cleared, scores, stars, hints, coins,
purchases made in the game, and basic device and app information (model, operating system, app
version, language, approximate region). We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the
game is played and to improve it, and Firebase Remote Config to adjust game settings.
- Advertising. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your
device's advertising identifier (on iOS only if you allow tracking when asked) and information
about your device and ad interactions to show and measure ads.
- Account (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, Firebase
Authentication receives an account identifier and the display name and email address the
provider shares. We use it to back up your progress and to take part in leagues. Sign in with
Apple lets you hide your email address.
- Saved progress and leagues (optional, signed in only). Your saved game (level, coins,
streak, owned themes) is stored in Google Firebase Realtime Database so it can be restored on
another device. If you join a league, your display name and weekly or monthly points are shown
to other players on the leaderboard.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored so
we can send reminders (for example, that your lives are back). You can turn notifications off
at any time in the app or in your device settings.
- Challenge links. A "Beat my time" link contains the level and the timing of your run,
and your name if you add it. It is shared only with the people you send it to.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by Google Play or the App Store. We receive a record of
what was bought so we can deliver it; we never see your payment details.
How we use it
To run the game and its features, keep your progress, show leaderboards, deliver purchases,
show and measure ads, send the notifications you allowed, fix problems and improve the game. We do
not sell your personal information.
Third parties
We rely on these services, which process data under their own policies:
Google Firebase and AdMob (Google Privacy Policy,
Firebase privacy),
Sign in with Apple and the App Store (Apple Privacy Policy),
and Google Play.
Your choices
- Play without signing in; nothing is stored in your name.
- Decline ad tracking when iOS asks, or reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Subscribe to the ad-free plan to remove ads between levels.
- Turn notifications off at any time.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). This removes your saved
progress from our servers and your sign-in; your league entries disappear when the current week
or month ends. Progress on your device is kept unless you also reset it. You can also ask us to
delete your data by emailing the address below; see how to delete your account.
Data retention and security
Saved progress is kept while your account exists. League points reset each week or month and old
periods are not kept. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected by access rules
that let only you read and write your own saved game.
Children
Unknot is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided some,
contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
